Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all electrical work carried out by Stanley’s Electrical Contractors Ltd. By requesting a quotation, accepting a proposal, or instructing us to begin work, you agree to these Terms. They apply to both residential and commercial clients unless otherwise stated. These Terms exist to ensure transparency, fairness, and a positive working relationship. You may request clarification on any section before work begins.

2. Services Offered

We offer a range of electrical services, including but not limited to general electrical repairs, installations, maintenance, electrical upgrades, testing and inspections, emergency callouts, and related services as advertised or agreed in writing. All work is carried out using reasonable skill and care in line with current UK regulations, including compliance with relevant electrical standards and safety guidance.

The scope of work will be defined clearly in your quotation or written agreement. Services may be updated at any time, but any previously agreed work will always be honoured.

3. Quotations & Pricing

Quotations are provided based on information given at the time of enquiry. Quotes are valid for a limited time period, as stated on each quotation. If the scope of work changes, pricing may be revised, but we will always inform you before proceeding.

Prices include labour and materials unless otherwise stated. Any additional work, variations, or unforeseen conditions (e.g. hidden faults, damaged wiring, regulatory non-compliance, or unsafe installations) will be costed separately and agreed before work continues.

4. Payments & Deposits

A deposit may be required before work begins, particularly on larger projects, installations, or where materials must be purchased in advance. All remaining balances are payable upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Payment may be made by bank transfer or other accepted payment methods. Late payment may result in delays to ongoing work and/or additional charges permitted under UK law.

We reserve the right to pause or cancel scheduled works in the event of non-payment.

5. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to provide access to the property, as well as electricity, parking, and any facilities reasonably required for works to be carried out. It is your responsibility to ensure work areas are free from obstruction and safe to operate within.

If there are pets, belongings, or fragile items in the work area, these should be moved or appropriately protected prior to arrival. Any delays caused by restricted access, unsafe conditions, or changes on-site may result in additional costs.

6. Cancellations & Postponements

If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, please provide reasonable notice. Late cancellations may be subject to a charge to cover lost time or pre-purchased materials.

If we need to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather, illness, delays in supply, or safety issues), we will always notify you as early as possible. We accept no liability for delays caused by matters outside our control.

7. Guarantees, Workmanship & Safety Compliance

We take pride in delivering quality workmanship. All work comes with a workmanship guarantee period as stated on your quotation or invoice. Any materials supplied will be covered by manufacturer warranties where applicable.

Guarantees do not cover:

• Failure caused by misuse or alteration after completion
• Third-party interference or subsequent modifications
• Wear-and-tear of components over time
• Damage caused by circumstances beyond our control

If an issue arises, it must be reported promptly. We will assess and act within reasonable time.

All work is conducted in accordance with applicable UK electrical regulations and safety standards at the time of installation.

8. Privacy & Data Handling

We collect personal data only as required to deliver quoted services. This may include names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, and job-related details. Information will not be shared externally unless legally required.

We follow reasonable measures to protect your data in line with current UK data protection regulations. You may request removal or correction of your information at any time.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be handled under UK legal jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is deemed unenforceable, the remainder shall continue to apply.
